An all-student vote (referendum) took place on 5 Dec to approve changes to the Union’s rules agreed by the Students’ Union Council on Mon 2 Dec.

 
Proposal 1 – Changes Relating to Student Officers

AGREE                  91           81.98%

DISAGREE            20           18.02%

ABSTAIN                4          

 

Proposal 2 – Changes Relating to the Students’ Union Council and All-Student Votes

Do you support the proposal to amend the Students’ Union Constitution and Rules to relating to Students’ Union Council and All-Student Votes?

AGREE                  88           79.28%

DISAGREE            16           20.72%

ABSTAIN                7          

 

Proposal 3 – Changes Relating to Academic Reps and Administration

Do you support the proposal to amend the Students’ Union Constitution and Rules to relating to Academic Reps and Administration?

AGREE                  84           77.06%

DISAGREE            17           22.94%

ABSTAIN                8

 

The proposals are carried and are deemed to be a valid expression of the views of the members of the Union. The proposal shall now be put before the University Senate (governing body) for final approval.

Part-Time Student Officer Elections - Results

Elections took place on 5 Dec for two Part-Time Student Officer positions. The following students have been deemed elected:

  • International Students’ Officer - Adam Farhan
  • Women Students' Officer - Hannah Orr

These students commence in post on 9 December 2019 and remain in until 30 June 2019, subject to them being a registered student of the University.
