Candidate for the position of Part-Time - International Students’ Officer

Being President of QISS and the current International Students Officer, re-elect me so I can complete the projects you voted for in December! My plans include inter-cultural events with free food, compiling information on internships, creating a system to report abuse, getting more food options at the SU shop, building a prayer room on campus, ensuring the safety of students in Belfast and a BT1/BT2 shuttle. These projects are currently in the works and require my re-election to complete!

  • My manifesto includes the following:
  • Hold social events with free food
  • Lobby the university to implement a shuttle bus between city centre accomodation and the university
  • Lobby the government for greater safety of students in Belfast, particularly for those living in the city centre 
  • Build a prayer room on campus NOW
  • Coordinate cultural events with societies
  • Organise events for employability such as CV workshops
  • Compile information and produce pamphlets on internships, employment and visas for international students
  • Design and promote an accessible, confidential complaints system to report racism, discrimination and abuse
