Hey Folks!
I’m Michael, a third year EEE student hoping to represent you all as the EEECS school rep next year. I’d love the chance to create a better environment to seek placement within EEECS, provide clarity and guidance on using Generative AI in coursework and exams, provide International Student support, and even try to incorporate a Dark Mode feature into more Queen’s Apps and websites!

Placement Company Accessibility: Navigating Futures with Confidence
Trying to find a placement that suits you and your interests can be stressful, I want to streamline this process by connecting placement seekers with current working students to give them an idea of the company culture, interview advice, as well as help with seeking accommodation for industrial placements abroad. This will help ensure that you start your placement with confidence in your role and a much better understanding of the company you’re working with.
Clearing the fog on AI in Coursework and Exams
As we all know, generative AI is a fantastic learning tool, and pretty insane at writing code, too. However, I believe we need to get some more clarity on how to use generative AI to our advantage, continue to adapt the curriculum with a student-first mindset, and solidify the rules surrounding using generative AI within coursework and open book exams.
International Student support
We all know how daunting it can be to move to a new city in a different country and pave your own way alone. I’m going to do my best to connect likeminded international students who want to excel in their field of study, thrive in their new city, and build a fantastic network of professionals.
