Building a better University experience for all.

I am a 4th year applied maths and physics student who has come through QUB during COVID who knows what student's want from Queens and will fight to get student's what they deserve.

If elected, I will:

1) Seek to get better resources for students with disabilities and mental health issues, as well as better funding for QUB wellbeing and disability service. No one should go through a tough time alone at university and QUB should be raising better mental health awareness.

2) Equip rooms mandatory lecture recording for all classes. We all get sick and have appointments causing us to miss class, and the unexpected can happen too. Some rooms aren't equipped to record lectures, causing students to fall behind on crucial teaching time, vital for their education.

3) Bring back the 48hr automatic extension to assignments. During the pandemic, Queen's implemented a 48 hour automatic extension period to deadlines for assignments, which was removed in the academic year 2022/23. If elected, I will try my best to bring this back, as you shouldn't be penalised for the unexpected happening.

4) Remove capped resits and lower exam weighting towards final degree outcome. Exam period is stressful for all of us, and I'm talking from experience when I say that. In some modules, exams are worth 70%-80% of the final grade, and if you perform badly, you won't get a mark you truly deserve after the year of hard work you have put into that module. Thus, I will lower exam contribution to a maximum of 50% towards final degree outcome. Resits are capped at 40%, if you have a resit and you perform better than your first attempt, you should be entitled to all the marks you scored in your resit, and I will fight for this change for students.
