Together, let’s elevate our voice and stand up for what’s right!

Mental Wellbeing:

Being a student is tough and specially staying away from your city/country/ family can get overwhelming

I am from India and I flew across continents to be here. No doubt QUB is an amazing Uni and Belfast is a pretty city, I still miss my family. I just want to say to my fellow students, it’s okay to feel lonely, it’s okay to feel down. I want to be there for all the international students and give them a platform to share their stories, insecurities and their emotional side. I want them to know they’re not alone.

I want to create a safe space for all the QUB students and let them know that they can approach us anytime.

Academic Excellence:

At QUB, undoubtedly we have the best professors for all our courses and they are always super helpful when we’re stuck with a problem. We also have an amazing Library that is stocked to the T. But I would like to add that we can collaborate with students and teachers to develop a feedback system which can help students put forward their issues or any problems that they encounter with their classes. It will also give our teachers and idea on the areas that require more attention.

Inclusivity:

QUB has students from all over the world and the uni tries their best to make them feel at home. I would ensure that all students participate in clubs and societies to expand their pool and acquaint themselves with people of different cultures and backgrounds. It is so important to learn and embrace different cultures and helps us grow personally and professionally.

Sustainability:

At QUB, I think we have some amazing measures in place for sustainability like bring your own cup or containers. We can go a step further by reducing the use of papers by converting everything into digital/electronic copies.

Career Development:

Students of today need to prepare themselves to be the leaders of tomorrow. I really feel we could start a cohort in the uni to train students for their future life by setting up mock interviews, helping them elevate their CVs and help improve their interpersonal communication skills. These skills are super important to prepare our students to become industry leaders in their chosen fields.

In Conclusion:

Together, we can amplify your voice within our university and we can create genuine change. We can advance and give everyone an inclusive, long-lasting, and rewarding academic experience. Let’s make our school an environment where each student's voice is respected and heard.
