I'm Sushmitha and I'd like to be the upcoming 'Students' Union Council - Postgraduate Representative'.
A postgraduate student can have many doubts or issues while attending online/offline classes or there might be some changes they wish to see in the system and may not be aware of whom to contact. I wish to represent various viewpoints of all my fellow postgraduate students.
It can be challenging to be away from home in a new place, experiencing cultural shock, and handling many responsibilities independently and might take a toll on one’s mental health. During such tough times, all a person need is someone to hear them out and be with them as a supportive friend. Being a postgraduate student myself, I’d like to be a helping hand for hundreds of postgraduate students at QUB.
This role would also let me socialize with the students from various cultural backgrounds and enables me to share insights of my culture and upbringing, as well as learn from each one of you.
