Why me? Why again?

Your Postgraduate Officer needs to be able to tackle the vast challenges of both Taught and Research students. I do.

They need to understand both diverse cohorts in order to best represent the postgraduate community within QUB. I do.

They need to have the experience and expertise in order to best support you and represent your voice. I do.

They need to be pushing forward on key issues you face and be adaptable so they can effectively pivot where needed.
I am and I do.
I have the experience, knowledge and the expertise. Over the last 8 months, I have actively sought to understand and listen to the challenges you are facing. I am constantly working hard to address them and find solutions. But I need more time to tackle the wider issues and make changes that positively affect your learning. To achieve the goals outlined in my manifesto I need your vote so I can continue my work and see this through to its conclusion.
When I ran last year, no-one knew the global pandemic was coming. I made a promise to you all to make key changes within the university, and Students' Union. The cumulative effects of these strategic, minor changes have major scope across the board. While some of my projects have been side-lined due to prioritisation of the SU’s COVID-19 response, the groundwork has begun and I am working hard to make good on my promises. BUT my work is not yet complete and I have so much that I still want to do.
I am asking you to trust in me again to: continue to deliver on my promises; continue to push for better postgrad funding and disability support; establish a dedicated quiet room in the Graduate School; expand the supervisory toolkit; hold Queen's accountable on education quality and assessments; and continue to redevelop the mental health framework in partnership with students, so that it benefits and supports you.
There is so much I have done already and so much I have yet to do. Please vote for me so I can finish the job and ensure the changes students need are followed through and happen!
