Student Officer Elections 2020

Every year, Student Officers are elected to represent the 25,000 students at Queen’s and to lead the Union. There are 16 positions available in total: 6 Full-Time and 10 Part-Time.

Students' Union President

The Students' Union President (Full-Time, Paid):

  • Represents students' views on campus and beyond
  • Identifies priority issues for students
  • Co-ordinates the activities of the Union

    The official charities that your SU will raise money for throughout 2020-2021.

    • USPCA

      The USPCA commits to protect all animals in Northern Ireland. Our animal hospital is open 7 days a week to care for injured and abandoned animals. We find animals loving new homes if their owners can no longer care for them and provide food banks with pet food to help people who struggle financially.

    • Action on Hearing Loss

      The leading charity helping people who are confronting life-changing deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss in Northern Ireland. Within Northern Ireland alone hearing loss affects approximately 300,000 people with this figure set to rise as our society ages.

    • Save the Children

      In the UK and around the world we make sure children are safe and healthy. We support them to learn, grow and become who they want to be.

    • Cruse Bereavement Care

      Cruse offers confidential and free bereavement support to young people, children and adults suffering grief after someone close them has died.

    • Belfast Samaritans

      Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. Samaritans mission is to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings and behaviour. Our unique 24-hour listening service makes sure someone is there for anyone who is going through a difficult time.

    • SAWA (Homeplus)

      Sawa was started by women seeking refuge in Belfast and is a space where women can come together, share knowledge, support each other, advocate for each other, enjoy child-free time, attend training and information sessions, and celebrate and laugh with each other.
