The Socialist society at Queens is for students with a Socialist outlook and worldview to organise political activity at Queens and spread Socialist ideas amongst students at Queens. The society is affiliated to the Socialist Party and run by members of the party studying at Queens. The Socialist society exists in University’s across Britain and Ireland with the aim of winning students to the ideas of Socialism. At Queens, the society hosts meetings on various issues and current political and economic developments internationally as well as meetings revolving around ideas relevant to Socialists today. The society also is involved in campaigns at Queens, running stalls on issues relevant to students, collecting signatures for petitions or handing out leaflets etc.

Every year, Student Leaders are elected to represent the 25,000 students at Queen’s and to lead the Union. There are 34 roles available: 6 Full-Time Student Officers; 3 Undergraduate Faculty Representatives; 10 Student Association Chairpersons; and 15 Undergraduate School Representatives.
