About

Queen's first men's soccer team was one of the founding members of the Northern Amateur Football League in 1923 and was also a founding member of the Irish League "B" Division in 1951. We remained in this league until 1966 when we were relegated to the N.I. Intermediate League. Several years later the club once again secured a place in the Irish League Division 2 for the 2003/04 season and in 2009 we were accepted into the IFA (now the NIFL) Championship 2.

Today the club runs 3 teams in total with the 1st team in the NIFL Championship Division 2 (also known as the NIFL Premier Intermediate League), 2nd team in the Northern Amateur Football League 2B, and our recently formed u21 team in the NIFL Championship Development League. Home games and training take place at the magnificent QUB Playing Fields, Upper Malone Road, Belfast.

QUB Soccer teams also compete in the Irish Universities Football Union (IUFU) Competitions (Collingwood Cup, Crowley Cup, and Harding Memorial Trophy) and in the Colleges & Universities Football League (CUFL). The Crowley Cup (second teams) and Harding Memorial Trophy (first-year students) were first competed for in 1970.

The club is run by students with the help and guidance of some graduates. Our members are drawn from both sides of the community. We are home to members from other parts of the UK & Ireland and from all over the world. Queen's Football Club fully supports the IFA's “Football for All” strategy.
