QUB SDLP is the Queen’s University society of the Social Democratic and Labour Party and the Queen's branch of SDLP Youth. We are a social democratic and Irish nationalist party in Northern Ireland. Since our founding in 1970, the SDLP has worked tirelessly to make this country a better place, being the political voice and one of the chief architects of the Northern Ireland civil rights movement.
Now our mission is to offer a left-wing alternative and to build a united, just and prosperous new Ireland, without discrimination or prejudice. Every year, Student Leaders are elected to represent the 25,000 students at Queen’s and to lead the Union. There are 34 roles available: 6 Full-Time Student Officers; 3 Undergraduate Faculty Representatives; 10 Student Association Chairpersons; and 15 Undergraduate School Representatives.
