Welcome to Scrubs! Learn what we're about and get involved!

About Scrubs

Scrubs was set up in 2004 by Queen's University Belfast Medical students and has had a successful 16 years and counting! The society has been voted Academic Society of the Year three times at the Student's Union Awards (2011, 2015 and 2017).

Throughout the year we host numerous events including:

  • Anatomy Revision Classes
  • OSCE practice days
  • The Emergency Medicine Conference (EMC)
  • Suturing Workshops (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)
  • Careers talks
  • Talks on topics such as Women in Surgery, Junior Doctors and intercalation
  • Women in surgery conference 

Get Involved!

Membership is open to all QUB Medical students in every year group and provides a range of opportunities to get involved in unique workshops such as suturing workshops or allowing you into revision classes for free

Membership for the year is just £5.

Every year, Student Leaders are elected to represent the 25,000 students at Queen’s and to lead the Union. There are 34 roles available: 6 Full-Time Student Officers; 3 Undergraduate Faculty Representatives; 10 Student Association Chairpersons; and 15 Undergraduate School Representatives.
