Want to Join Sailing?
With our new boats purchased in 2018, we are now able to bring sailing to all students. Whether you are a complete beginner, advanced racer or just a socialite, we have a place for you in our club.
We run training sessions in Ballyholme Yacht Club every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm till sunset during term time, and Saturday mornings from 9am - 2pm. This begins with our Try Sailing day, head over to the events tab to hear more about it!
For those who don't have their own mode of transport we recommend getting the train to Bangor and someone will collect you from the station. The train times are 13:37pm on Wednesday and 09:07am on Saturdays from Botanic Train station.
Socials, Events and Flotilla Holiday
We organise a social event each week that helps the team bond and allows new members to get to know everyone off the water. Past socials include nights out, pub crawls, dinners, we are vertigo and many more!
Each year as a club we attend 5 events in total. These include the 4 main events hosted by IUSA, and the Glasgow Grouse. These events include cometitive sailing with Universities all over Ireland and the UK, themed socials, formals, ceilidhs and many more! Due to COVID-19 we cannot confirm these events as early as we would like to, but when the information is confirmed, we will be posting them in the Events tab ASAP.
We also organise a flotilla holiday every summer to round up the year with a bang. This is a week long holiday on a yacht, island hopping in the sun, partying and relaxing!
