PAMSoc creates an active and social community to bring together students of the sciences in a friendly and informal environment. This means that we give you the opportunities to gain insight, discuss scientific ideas and delve deeper into the things that keep you up at night. If that isn’t quite your style you can join us for a pint at a pub quiz or dress your best and attend the PAMSoc formal! There is something for everyone at PAMSoc and we are open and inclusive to all.

For the socialites, we host frequent social events throughout the year ranging from mixers at the start of the year to pub quizzes, movie nights, karaoke nights and much more. All of which culminates in our most anticipated event of the year, our stellar formal which never ceases to amaze. If we don't offer something you (and maybe a few friends) would be interested in give us a shout and we will do our best to make it happen, we want you to have a good time after all!

For the academics, we have workshops, guest lectures, careers fairs and talks from employers throughout the year so there will always be space to learn and develop your CV for the future.

For the athletes, (yes we have those in science too),  every week we have PAMSoccer, our acclaimed football team which plays a casual 5-a-side every Wednesday 5-6pm each week at the PEC. It’s a great way to relax and meet some new people!

For everyone, we have the the weekly PAMSocials every Tuesday 5-6pm in the Maths and Physics Teaching centre foyer. Come along for a casual chit chat by yourself or bring some friends :) There will be teas, coffee, biscuits and some board games to keep everyone busy.

For the first years, we work hard to ensure that we can help ease you into university life as quickly as possible. It can be intimidating coming onto courses like maths and physics that fill lecture theatres every day. So, to help out, we have mixers that should be of particular interest to newcomers, it is a friendly and welcoming environment to just sit down with someone and start chatting. It never fails to be a production line for friendships between the most unlikely of people.

For the average Joe/Jane, we create a community that has a place for everyone and we can definitely fit you in somewhere. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram to see what shenanigans we get up to and what events are coming up.
