About

QCAN aims to promote awareness to the climate crisis, and to campaign for knowledge of sustainability throughout the School of Natural Built Environment. We believe the School of Natural Built Environment can play an incredibly positive role in addressing this knowledge gap on climate change and sustainability. To make this happen, architectural education needs an overhaul. Essential knowledge now needs to be embedded within curriculums, educating on the environmental impact of architectural practice and the wider construction industry. We believe teaching around environmental design must be incorporated
into every module, utterly normalising it and removing its specialist status. We as a society would
like to start a student society group to promote this education within our school and throughout
Queen's University, we believe that climate literacy is not a specialist subject and should be
taught to the future architects, planners and engineers
